The mission of the Budget Office at New Mexico State University is to serve the entire university community and various external entities by matching institutional objectives with appropriate financial resources and reporting financial information in compliance with external agencies’ requirements. Our services afford our customers the highest in excellence, helpful, courteous, attentive, and comprehensive.
The Budget Office reports to the Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance. We are responsible for coordinating and reporting budgeting information and requests.
- Coordinate the preparation of all operating budget request for the University, including the main and branch campuses that are presented to the Commission on Higher Education, Governor and State Legislature.
- Coordinate the institution’s annual internal budget planning and development process, including preparation of official budget documents for approval by Board of Regents and state agencies.
- Provide assistance to account managers in the management of their allocated budgets.
- Provide leadership and coordination of financial planning activities, including counsel on appropriate policies and procedures relating to fiscal resource management.
